This Club caters for all those who have an interest in the breed whether it be showing, working, field trialling or purely social.
Open shows are held in Kent in early January, Sussex in September and a Championship one in Kent in late March. Obedience classes are run at the September show. In addition Working events are held during the summer months and Field Trials in the November /January period. Also Show Gundog Working Certificate Trials are held to enable those dogs which have become Show Champions to qualify for full Champion status. On the other end of the scale a course of Training Classes (Working) for instruction are run on a weekly basis in the summer months.
On the lighter side there is an Annual Social Evening, normally in October, which is either an interesting lecture or a quiz evening plus an enjoyable supper. The Intra Club Match is a very light hearted affair when there is a competition between the three counties.
The annual Year Book is first available at Crufts and contains a record of all our activities during the preceding year, together with interesting articles and Kennel Reviews from many of the country's leading kennels. This is an excellent reference book and is available to current members free of charge.
A Newsletter is also sent to members, twice a year, and as well as giving general information and results often contains articles of topical interest. Particular attention is given to the needs of those members who are new to the breed.
The Club runs a very active Puppy Register through which members can be put in contact with potential buyers for their puppies and insists that both Sires & Dams have had their Hips X rayed and scored under the KC/BVA Scheme and both must hold Current KC/BVA Eye Examination Certificates. This is very important. We may be able to help you if you are looking for a puppy.
Annual fees are £10 for Single and £12 for Joint/Family Memberships.
