Working Tests

Test Definitions:

Special Puppy:  Confined to KC registeredLabradors from 6 months of age to no older than 24 months on the day of the test.

Novice Dog/Novice Handler:  Not to have won a 1st in a Novice Dog/Novice Handler Gundog Working Test, 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any Novice Gundog Working Test or Any award in an Open Working Test or Field Trial held in accordance with KC regulations.

Veteran: Open to KC registered Labradors aged 8 years and over on the day to the test. Special for the oldest Dog who completes the test - awarded by Mrs Jean Simmons.

Novice: Confined to KC registered Labradors which have not gained a COM or higher award at a field trial or 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an Open Working Test or 1st in any Novice test held in accordance with KC regulations.

Intermediate: Confined to KC registered Labradors, not to have been placed 1st in an Open test or to have won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any field trial.

Open:  Open to all KC registered Labradors however in the event of a large entry, preference may be given to dogs which have gained an award or COM in a field trial or been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a Open working test or a 1st in any test run in accordance with KC regulations.

Entry Regulations:

All entries are £5.00 per dog for members and £10.00 per dog for non-members - all monies in full to be received with entry. Entries will not be returned with less than 48 hours notice of withdrawal to the secretary before the test.

Signs will be out from 9.00am - please do not enter the ground before the signs are out.

A maximum of 2 dogs only per handler per test will be accepted.

Please keep all dogs on leads except when called forward to compete by the judge.

Closing date for entries is 14 days before the date of the test. A running order and full venue directions and times will be sent to all entrants who enclose a SAE with their entry. No running orders will be sent without SAE - Sorry!

Please send a separate cheque for each dog and each test entered with him/her. Please also send a separate entry form for each test although two dogs can be on the same entry form if in the SAME test.

An entry form is included on the website, please do copy it as many times as necessary, OR contact the WT sec who will be happy to post or email you as many as you require.

Please fill in entry forms clearly with dog KC reg. number or they will be returned.

No Bitches in season may be run or enter the test ground.

All working tests above are held under Kennel Club rules.
